INFRA-APPAREL
Commissioned by The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute to create the photographs for the catalogue of the exhibition Infra-Apparel, Selkirk built a studio inside the museum and proceeded to undertake a series of fashion shoots that chronicle the emergence of underwear as outerwear. The photographs bring mysteriously to life corsets, brassieres, bustiers, and other clothing on headless, faceless dressmaker’s dummies.
